Locally owned: Downtown Grind is a coffee shop, vegetarian cafe, and meeting place on Main Street in Elmira. Owner/operator Sara Caldwell decided to open her coffee shop and cafe in Elmira based on the success of her food truck Global Taco in the Elmira area. Downtown Grind opened in November 2018 and has served thousands of cups of coffee, espresso, and happiness to Elmirans and visitors.

Unique: Downtown Grind is the only vegetarian cafe in Elmira. We also serve locally roasted coffees and espresso, display works by local artists, and offer locally-made hot sauces, chocolates, baked goods, and more!

For Restaurant Week: Downtown Grind will offer Toast Trio for $10: one piece each of Avocado Toast (avocado, blanched asparagus, roasted red pepper, lemon oil, flaked salt, tricolor pepper), Cheese Toast (herbed ricotta with roasted zucchini, bell pepper, carrot, and onion, and chopped fresh parsley), and Butter Toast (creamy or crunchy peanut butter, strawberry preserves, and chopped honey roasted peanuts).
